– In-game description

Luke (ルーク Rūku) is a bachelor in Story of World: New Sunbeam Island.

The eldest son of Peter and Natalie, Luke is a talented young man who loves his parents, but struggles with his expectations. He is the opposite of his younger brother, Zeno, who is high-spirited and outgoing. Luke is sensitive, serious, but also gentle. Unlike Zeno, Luke does not wish to be a blacksmith and take after their father.

Like his mother, he has good cooking skills. Luke likes to cook food as much as Mary enjoys eating it, and so she will be Claire's rival for his affection.

Flower Events[]

White Flower Event
Luke's Gift for [Player]

This event will automatically occur as the player exits their home, as long as Luke is at a white friendship level or further. Luke will meet the player and ask if they want a gift that he brought. If his gift is accepted, the player will earn 1500 XP and receive a Gold Ore; rejection will lose 1000 XP.

Purple Flower Event

Luke is at a Purple Flower or higher with his White Flower Event having been triggered.

Blue Flower Event

When Luke is at a Blue Flower or higher, assuming that his Purple Flower Event has been triggered, he will request the player to ship 10 ores.

Yellow Flower Event
Do You Love Luke?

Upon obtaining the going-steady Pendant from a seagull by befriending Luke to a Yellow Flower or higher, the player can trigger his confession. On the beach, Luke tells that he loves Claire and wants to know if she feels the same way. Selecting the first four options will make them sweethearts, and they return home after this event. Selecting one of the negative options will lose 4000 XP.

Orange Flower Event
A Date with Luke

This event automatically occurs as Claire wakes up in the morning on a sunny day. Luke has a yellow friendship level or higher with his previous love events having been triggered. Luke stops by Claire's house and asks if they could go on a date. Once his request is accepted, Claire must go to Dolphin Town Beach at 16:00. Rejecting Luke's request or standing him up will result in losing 1000 XP.

Rival Events[]

Rival Event #1
Lunch with Laetitia

Walk from Dolphin Town Beach to Dolphin Town between 14:00 and 19:00 on a sunny, cloudy, or snowy day. This event cannot be triggered on Thursday. Luke (female player)/Mary (male player) is at a Purple Flower only or the player is married. Additionally, the player has talked to Laetitia for one week.

Mary invites Luke to join her for some fun and the duo return back to her place when they do not have any other ideas as to where to go. When Mary asks how things are and if he is getting used to being there, Luke asks her how the shop has been going, but Mary gives a lukewarm answer and mentions that her mom usually takes care of it. Eventually, their time flies by and he leaves.

Rival Event #2
Taste Preference

The same requirements apply as Luke and Mary's first rival event, except Luke (female player)/Mary (male player) is at a Blue Flower only or the player is married. Additionally, Zeno must be at a Purple Flower or less.

Mary invites Luke back to the apartment and asks him if there is anything he does not like eating. As he thinks about it, Zeno points out that unless the food tastes horrible, he will usually eat anything, but feels sure that is not a problem with Mary's cooking. She is happy that Zeno understands his brother perfectly and explains that he used to make food for him all the time. Luke intervenes to ask why Mary was wondering, but she insists there was no one and Zeno agrees.

Rival Event #3
Denied Refusal

Enter Sunshine Apartment between 12:00 and 14:00 on a sunny, cloudy, or snowy day. This event cannot be triggered on Thursday. Luke (female player)/Mary (male player) is at a Yellow Flower only or the player is married. Additionally, the game's storyline must be completed.

Mary greets Luke as he arrives in the apartment, telling him that he waits for her to finish. She returns and he asks what the apartment is doing, explaining that her job is really demanding. Due to her mother cooking here, Mary has to enjoy yummy foods, so she is willing to deal with it. However, Luke does not seem to understand. Before Mary says anymore, she is asked to go shopping. With nothing more to do, Luke joins her, but finds himself feeling awkward whilst observing her at Karstenmarkt.

When they finish, Mary happily decides to make something to eat for Luke as thanks for helping her, but his insistence that she does not need to gets her angry with him because he always rejects her offer. Mary refuses to let him turn her down this time, but when Luke points out a word mistake she made, she instantly changes her mind and leaves before he protests again.

Rival Event #4
Matchmaker's Mystery

Walk from Dolphin Town Beach to Dolphin Town between 11:00 and 18:00 on a sunny, cloudy, or snowy day. This event cannot be trigerred on Thursday. Luke (female player)/Mary (male player) is at an Orange Flower only or the player is married. Additionally, Julia and Emily must be at Yellow and Blue flowers or less respectively.

Mary reveals Luke that something bad happened: he has been set-up with a heir to a merchant family they frequently deal with, which she is unhappy. Whilst Mary is awaiting her date at the book store, they are joined by Emily and Julia, but she asks that they not get in the way as she will be too busy to help them. Emily and Luke begin having a conversation, but when Mary and the mysterious boy begin making their way near them, Luke intervenes and tells him that he is Mary's boyfriend. The mysterious boy is shocked by this and demands an explanation.

At Dolphin Town Beach, Luke informs Mary that Emily ran away. He apologises for ruining her time with her mystery date, but Mary is not disappointed. However, she asks Luke if he claimed to be her boyfriend, then Luke claims that he loves Mary and wants to be with her. Luke reveals the Flower Jewel to Mary and proposes to her, which she happily accepts.

Rival Wedding and Child[]

One year after triggering Luke and Mary's fourth rival event, the player will receive a phone call from either of them depending on gender, telling that they are invited to the couple's wedding. A bell rings as white birds fly past with the screen showing both Luke and Mary. After they face forward happily as an applause is heard, the day will automatically end with players waking up the next morning.

Two months after Luke and Mary have married, the player must talk to Mary anywhere when she has a red cross floating above her head. She will tell the player that they are thinking about having a baby. If her request is accepted, Luke and Serena will welcome a daughter named Lucy two months later.
